We serve many established and early stage clients who work at creating innovative new products and services in the software and internet industries. To create intellectual property and protection is a major priority for our clients, for which we need a safe way to interact with new software applications and internet solutions without introducing security risks to their work computer.

Could you please suggest an appropriate solution for the same?

You can try for some virtual machine that can evaluate new software applications and is capable of browsing the web safely. Using such VM on the main machine, would enable to run one or more separate virtual machines.

You can install and run software applications in VM to evaluate features and functionality without risk of operating system or application compatibility or stability issues with their work computer. Using some complete PC environment, including operating system and applications, get the true end-user experience from each application.

which is good when working with a single virtual machine and you do not want a bloated solution

VMware Server 1.x / 2.0

2.0 is a completely web based solution which can be used from anywhere and can easily handle multiple virtual machines

both are free and there are many more solutions freeware and open source

right now I am working with VMware 2.0 beta 2 and its working pretty well .. plus - what is more interesting for me - it has a well documented and good working API (VIX API) to control the virtual machines from your software

Well, MokaFive really worked for us. MokaFive’s LivePC have worked so well for us that we are planning to expand our use of them to new areas such as in court when we need internet access, but we don’t want to use a browser on one of our personal laptops. Carrying a web-enabled LivePC on a USB flash drive will save us the expense and hassle of carrying an extra laptop around.
