my main browsre is Opera 7 (www.opera.com) and recently the forums have been appearing like this:

‹ÔÙ4 sèz³ Á¶êõÆ¥ÛwÙKÖ¾yŸíÜœÂcÔ±Rc7‚ÔqçN`M;Ç÷ìë|Á,šO„¹ô½x{l¬=æ;uLv;›¸3Ï_ ¦Ñˆ€^‡ì.st:½»`·Âæ0%ÀõPkèī˴ø³YOœÖ·Fï»bV1ÄcÄ~‰U*9Ôd¬ÔÀŒ3¾ ¹þ7Ù±h} Ÿ»Ë…·§©`‚¡T$ògý‰(bfð'B›¨gè*»N¥–QPÍÄ |,ņ¹bQ¤¢Å4Å…_*¾«d¹¡4G•¼Æ¸=_â š ®û {J«(>f- ’$õë»_ˈ>Â|½°N†p|ˆ{leMº²6§2¶=]ŧ1Q5)zL<”š—‘ «@°²§Dà‡…·x’…1<–…0€ü] |tfÊ>->Sñ›/üÄW‰¨=‰¶p¶´“Ôžc®ÂåÒ ž ™iñë«ú‰véHY:èM~$ö"ÿgŒ9™;üA‹ÕWU/RÉ/1—˜DÇb›P~Î"q ÁæçU´éÎ 7|GA‰ÊyTÎ$ù™ü]Œ0î£[¶RÖ—€ä#|‹¯hmtÂé ¦P@a§¤ äHgùqž›ê±^¶JœÂ

(yes a bunch of odd characters)

this began about a month ago (i've ben on vacation) and its quite troublesome to have to switch to another browser to write on the forums...

The same error here with Opera 7.23. IE works fine. Another friend of mine also uses Opera 7 and has this error. There was a short while this error seemed to be fixed, but now it is back again. It really annoys me because I don't want to be forced to use another browser. And I know that the phpBB normally works well with Opera.

I surely won't downgrade (I have the current version) my browser just because one website. :roll:

Edit: I saved the page offline and tried to open it with opera, with success. So the problem may not be the actual html code of the page itself, but a strange working web server configuration which delivers the generated code in a faulty way (at least for the opera browser).

Now I know what causes this problem. At this moment I'm using Opera 7.51 and still have the bug. But when I let the browser identify itself as MSIE 6.0 the page loads fine. So there must be a browser check involved here...

same problem here. using opera 9tp1. would be nice to have this problem fixed.

regards,
mag

p.s.: luckily opera 9 includes per site settings. so you can adjust opera to identify itself as IE for w2s.
