Anyone faces the same thing like myself? I am running on WinXP SP1 with all the Windows updates. I noticed that the window size of explorer or control panel or recycle bin or network connections or.... keeps changing in size and location on the desktop. Inside each windows also the icon sometimes changes to detail view and sort in groups and so on. Could this be a virus or worm attack? My anti virus is running. Any comments please?

ok, there is an option in "Folder option" - "Viewings" - "Save view of every Folder"
(sorry, if this translation is not good)

this is very annoying about XP, IIRC XP supports only a certain amount of folders to save settings properly, i had a tweak util that allowed you to up that amount at the cost of system resources, but i cant recall which program that was that had that option.

the only way i've got it sorted is, i boot up, tweak my folders views and then dont shut my pc off again till i have to:)

oh iirc you can also open a folder, set your folder/icon view, and hold Control while clicking on the X in the upper right corner to close the window, and XP is supposed to apply to all folders... your milage may vary

better shut from time to time your pc off

because of your electricity bill !!!

no
i think if it´s a built in win prob, then there could be a "fix" in SP2
or the prob is so seldom?!
but that´s a bad characteristic of Win
it does what it want *smile*
