Athlon TB 1200
No system fans, only power supply and CPU fans

Idle CPU temp - 52 C
Idle Sys temp - 31 C

After 1 hour of Ghost Recon

Active CPU temp - 63 C
Active Sys temp - 42 C
GPU heatsink - burns my finger

Conclusion - My GPU is getting worked and I need a system fan.

mr.burnes, T'Birds tend to run hotter than XPs, i'm not up on the max temp specs for the T'Bird but i KNOW the XP is rated to top out at 90c
is it posible your vid is locking instead of the CPU ??? what vid do you run and do you have active cooling on it ??

With 3 case fans and that ambient yer CPU should be fine, unless you've got a very small case, or alot of restricted airflow due to cable and wire routing, or lack there of, wire ties and tucking in cables goes a long way to making things cooler, and set your fans up so you have more pulling out than blowing in !! :)

XP 1700+ with an AOC copper core HSF unit
31c at idle, and around 45c at full load
I run 3 case fans, an old K6-2 fan on my GPU
and the PS fan, if you count those, system temp is 29-30 at idle
and maybe 32-33 at full bore

System config:

AMD XP 2000+
512 MB DDR RAM
40 Gb HD
Creative Gforce 4 ti 4600
Soundblaster Audigy Platinum
19' screen

CPU Cooler: Volcano 7+ Thermaltake at high speed
Gforce Cooler: Copper cooler Thermaltake
1 cooler in the back blowing the air out and one in the front blowing fresh air in and one hanging inside blowing between my Gforce and Soundblaster.

Enough ventilation you think?

When I play a 3D shooter at maximum detail and resolution of 1280-1024 my CPU climes to the temperature of almost 60 °C !!!

When it's hot outside I even remove my side panel.

Aldo AMD has a temperature problem, I still think it's a great CPU. For games it is the best and they're low priced compared with Intel.

Even Nvidia chooses AMD...
