why not the 4400+?
it has the 2MB Level2 Cache
and the 4600+ "only" 1MB of Cache!

why don´t u get the 4400+ and OC it 200mhz and save about 200€?

Testing Complete:
------------------------

Seems The GA-K8NF-9 just cant cut it with the AMD64x2 and the BIOS's barely work if that. Thus giving occasional Event viewer errors. / Random restarts. etc.

So my conclusion is Make sure your Mobo is at least a Ultra/SLI chipset. Not a nForce4-4X.

The A8N-E Revision 2.00
---------------------------------

http://www.asus.com/...455&modelmenu=1

Very nice motherboard and probably the best bet for AMD64x2 NON-SLI users.

Comes with a very Stable 1005 BIOS (Though a beta was available version 1007-002 But seemed The newer RAID BIOS 4.84 would'nt let my computer restart after the first Windows installation. RAID driver 5.24, Don't even ask what version 5.34 did.)

The Computer instantly Recognized the AMD64x2 CPU and Install of Windows x64 was a breeze !

So far 100% Stable and performance is quite impressive to say the least. :)

Seems the 4.84 RAID/BIOS on some new BETA BIOS's wont let the system restart after installing the first set of the windows installation.

Then if you keep RAID BIOS 4.84 and use RAID driver 4.34 it will restart but when the 2nd Windows installation is complete it restarts too a BSOD. :)

So the key here is use nVRAID BIOS 4.81 with x64 RAID/IDE Driver 5.24. :)

The 4600+ is faster as i saw in benchmarks even with less cache

Call me a sucker but I avoid OC my hardware :knife:
I do not trust overclocking so much

yes its faster since cache size gets less important as it increases the size
the step from 256 to 512 is already barely noticable
but more is always better here :D
I am currently also having a non-OCed PC but a slight OC is always possible and could be considered absolutely safe ...
on my mobo there is even a default OC
by setting the FSB to 204 instead of 200 MHz
