When trying to install SP2 on SP1 XP Pro, when it comes to the part where it says, 'Finishing installation', then at the bottom its 'Details: Running processes after install'... a load of runtime errors popup. I press ok so it terminates them but then it just freezes in the middle, nothing happens to the progress bar.
This is twice this has happened. Last time I restarted my PC and it said that setup was not complete and I had to reformat all over again and it was a pain!

Why would it do this? Corrupt version of WinXP SP1?

Thank you

on a fresh SP1 it is possible to install SP2 without any problem

only on some rare cases it should cause trouble

so it should be the SP1 installation which is bugged

anyway the best way to install SP2 is to integrate it into the windows installation disk
this can be done within a minute with www.nliteos.com
this way you will have a much better experience !

I see. I seem to be very unfortunate :( Built new PC, having problems with the drivers recognising my USB ports as 2.0, instead it says its 1.1 -.- and now I cant install SP2 onto SP1. It worked my old PC all the time!

Neway thanks for the link, seems perfect for what I need. Can I also integrate my programs so it automatically installs them instead of me having to do it all?
Also I only have Win XP Pro with SP1, can I just add SP2 onto it with this program so it overwrites SP2?
Will it be bootable?

Thank you Merstch.

(ShockaR)
having problems with the drivers recognising my USB ports as 2.0, instead it says its 1.1

that´s my prob on Notebook, too
i tried that on my Nforce2, also
first with XP SP0, no USB 2.0
upgraded to SP1a, no USB 2.0
upgraded to SP2, yes, no USB 2.0

and as u can see, i could upgrade from original to SP2 without problems! and normaly there are no problems

maybe ur SP2 is broken??
tried to download again?
